What Can I Expect

Reach for the skies with this range flying lessons out of Shoreham Airport! We are offering vouchers for 30, 40 and 60-minute flights in two and four seater aircraft out of this popular airfield just outside Brighton.

Flying out of Shoreham is really rather special. Lancing College and the South Downs act as your stunning backdrop. This historic airport is in Shoreham by Sea right on the edge of the glorious West Sussex coastline.

Also known as Brighton City Airport, Shoreham is just seven miles from the popular seaside town. It's a great choice for these flying lessons, as you get the double whammy of views and great tuition!

Lesson flights are offered all year round at Shoreham. Operated using two or four-seater Piper Aircraft, you will be sitting up front beside your instructor. All aircraft have dual controls, so you will have plenty of hands-on time flying the plane.

If you opt for the four seater experience, a family member or friend can take up the back seat to enjoy your aerial fun with you and watch your lesson progress (subject to pilot approval).

Whilst aspiring pilots are airborne over West Sussex during their Shoreham Airport flying lessons, spectators on the ground can make the most of the excellent facilities around the school, including a visitor centre, restaurant and cafe bar, boasting excellent views of the main tarmac and two grass runways.

What's Included

• Trial flying lesson in a two seater P18 or four seater PA28 aircraft
• 30, 40 or 60 minute flight durations are available
• Full pre-flight briefing with an introduction to the aircraft's controls
• Conduct the external and internal pre-flight checks
• The instructor will handle take off and landing
• Once airborne you will have the opportunity to take the controls

• Experiences are available weekdays and weekends throughout the year

Suitable For

• The minimum age is 14 years old
• Maximum weight 16 stone
• Maximum height: 6ft 2ins
• Choose the 4-seater option and an 'interested observer may join you for your flight (subject to combined weight restrictions and at the pilot's discretion)
• Customers may need to provide a form of photographic ID

Spectators

• Spectators are welcome to attend
• The airport has an onsite restaurant and bar as well as plenty of viewing areas of the runway
• Brighton is just along the coast, offering hundreds of attractions, shops and restaurants
