Goodwood flying lessons - getting airborne from glorious Goodwood! Take off from this historic aerodrome near Chichester for a fabulous first flight in a modern training aircraft.
This not-for-profit flying school and club was established in 1970. A group of employees of the Plessey electronics group, who were passionate about planes, wanted to create a friendly flying school to encourage flying for all. They have been flying out of Goodwood since 1973.
Their passion and dedication has paid off, with literally hundreds of pilots gaining their licence at Goodwood with this long-established school. Many of these pilots have gone to fly commercially and all enjoy their recreational flying. With such heritage, we're pleased to be able to offer you flying lessons out of Goodwood.
It's a bustling place with the famous circuit, the lovely South Downs and the Chichester Harbour Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty surrounding the runways of this time-served aerodrome. The RAF originally created the runways to accommodate the bomber squadrons stationed here during WW2.
As well as the natural beauty of the coast and countryside around Goodwood, these flying lessons also make the most of the open, uncontrolled air space around the aerodrome. That means you won't be in a queue to take off and you'll be flying the skies as free as a bird!
We are offering 30 and 60-minute flying lessons at Goodwood. They are operated by one of the school's Robin R-2160i planes, which are strong, robust and easy-to-fly trainer aircraft.
Please note: This experience is fully booked until November 2024 due to popular demand (updated 23/08/24)
