Microlighting near Doncaster out of Sandtoft Airfield! We are offering vouchers for a full range of flight durations. And what's more, the voucher is valid for flexi or fixed wing experiences.
Your host will be Rob. He's a microlight instructor, flight and ground examiner, inspector and check pilot. In essence, that means he is highly experienced and indeed has many thousands of hours flying microlights under his belt!
This ex-RAF engineer simply loves his microlights. At this Doncaster base he flies the Pegasus Quantum 912 and the Thruster Jabiru Sprint. The Pegasus is the one that looks a bit like a hang glider, with a tricycle undercarriage. This flexwing model seats two people in the open-to-the-elements cockpit and is flown using the control bar to regulate roll and pitch.
The fixed-wing Thruster Jabiru Sprint T600 looks more like a conventional aeroplane, except it's far, far lighter. Two fliers sit side by side in the enclosed cockpit with pitch, roll and yaw controlled by ailerons, elevator and rudder, so the flight controls are just like a ‘normal' plane.
This might all seem very technical, but all these Doncaster microlighting lessons are designed to suit complete beginners, as well as those who have been airborne before. All tuition is totally geared to what you'd like to do. And if you're up for it, there will be lots of time for you to be in control of the aircraft.
And we have to say, Sandtoft Airfield is well-located between Doncaster and Scunthorpe and has a lovely atmosphere with a good on-site cafe (very important in the world of aviation!), toilets and car parking too.
We have vouchers for 20, 30, 45 and 60-minute microlighting lessons in Doncaster and you can choose on booking your slot whether you fancy flying in a flex-wing, or the more conventional fixed-wing aircraft.
