James and Hazel Walker run this microlight training school. Flights operate out of Rossall Field, which is tucked away beside Tarn Farm. You're deep in the Lancashire countryside, but literally minutes away from the gorgeous coastline and the lovely Lake District.
James is super enthusiastic about microlighting. He passed his National Private Pilot's Licence when he was 21 years old and two years later had qualified to be an instructor pilot. He is very knowledgeable and passionate about flying these super, lightweight machines.
Both flexi wing and fixed wing microlights are flown out of Lancashire. The flexi has that open cockpit feel for an authentic microlight experience, whilst the fixed wing EuroFox looks and handles more like a traditional light aircraft.
Taking off from the short landing strip at the working farm, you will soon be airborne above the Lune Valley with views towards the picturesque Morecombe Bay. Your flight path options include traditional west coast seaside towns at their very best, countryside and lakes too. You'll get to see it from the air - and it certainly has the 'wow' factor.
Microlight lessons in Lancashire are offered seven days a week, all year round, subject to suitable weather. As well as having the option to try the flex or fixed wing aircraft, you might well be able to have a go at taking the controls so it is you who is actually flying!
