What Can I Expect

Take a rally-prepped Nissan Micra for a spin at Silverstone's rally school! Open to rally-mad youngsters between the ages of 14 and 17, teenage petrol heads will love the chance to get behind the wheel of a proper rally car.

We are offering three different youth experiences at this renowned Silverstone rally centre. There's the adrenaline taster, the half-day and the full-day.

On the Adrenaline Experience it's all about honing those essential left-hand powerslide and handbrake turn techniques that have been seen a million times on the WRC footage on telly. And it's all rounded off with a lap of the real rally stage circuit.

Those lucky teens who have a half-day voucher clutched in their hands also start with the left-hand handbrake turn and powerslide techniques. Attention will then turn to doing it all over again, but right-handed this time. The half-day concludes with three laps of the rally stage.

The full-day junior rally session at Silverstone Rally School features training on both left and right-handed slides and handbrake turns, with one sighting lap of the rally stage before lunch (available to purchase on site). The afternoon starts off with learning all about pace notes. Having done your notes, the rest of the afternoon will see you take to the loose gravel stage for pace note practice followed by five gloriously mad minutes of rallying.

We have to say, this junior rally school at Silverstone is the real rallying deal. The instructors (who have been doing this rallying lark for a long time) are very patient with driving geared to each youngster's ability.

And a note for Mums and Dads of keen teens: this Silverstone rally school he school has been British Association of Rally Schools (BARS) licensed for many years and the cars are dual controlled. Your kids will be in excellent hands!

What's Included

• All experience taken in a fully race prepared dual controlled Nissan Micra
• Short classroom briefing on safety and rally car control

Adrenaline Rally Experience

• Learn basic handbrake turns, powerslides and pendulums, followed by one lap of the authentic gravel rally stage
• Please allow 1 - 2 hours on site

Half Day Rally Experience

• Master the basic left hand handbrake turn and powerslide techniques used by rally drivers, then you'll take it all to the right hand, challenging your cognitive skills to the max
• To finish your experience, test your new skills on our authentic gravel rally stage for 3 full laps with your instructor by your side
• Please allow 3 - 4 hours on site 

Full Day Rally Experience

• The ultimate rally experience, mastering the left hand and right-hand handbrake turns and powerslide techniques used by rally drivers
• Finish the morning with one lap of the authentic gravel rally stage
• Break for lunch (available to purchase on site)
• Learn the fundamentals and theory of pace notes: Write your own pace notes for use on our authentic gravel rally stage and have the instructor read them back to you around the stage.
• Then put this into practice when your instructor takes you through the stage calling out random routes simulating what it's like on a real rally stage
• Please allow 5 - 6 hours on site

When Is It Available

• Session run on selected Saturdays and during school holidays, subject to availability 

Suitable For

• Minimum age of 14 and a maximum age of 17
• All participants must be accompanied on site by an adult
• Minimum height 137 cms
• Maximum weight is 14 stone

Spectators

• Spectators are welcome to attend and watch participants in action from the indoor and outdoor viewing areas
• Food and drink is available to purchase throughout the day

Anything Else

• Passenger rides available to purchase on the day (£40) subject to availability
• The operator reserves the right to change cars in the event of technical/availability issues
