Can children drive 4x4 cars? They certainly can on these junior offroad driving experiences that are available at venues nationwide! Give your little ones the chance to rip it up on the rough terrain with these experiences aimed just at the kids.
Mud. Water. Banked turns. Steep hills and sharp descents. We've got it all for the lucky kids who will be getting their hands on these impressive four wheel drive off roading vehicles. And with a fine portfolio of centres around the country, your teen tearaways will be spoilt for choice as to where they choose to take their junior off road experience.
Of course, each venue varies, but children can expect to be tackling tricky tracks and trails anywhere from disused quarries and farm estates, to purpose-build obstacle circuits and open fields filled with rutted paths. Kids might be avoiding the trees in the dense forest, or negotiating the routes that are at seemingly impossible gradient.
Now, if you're wondering how a child can possibly drive anywhere in the UK without having a licence, we can tell you that they'll be on private land away from the public roads and many of the 4x4s used are dual control with automatic transmission. Plus, all the fun of off roading is the obstacles you come up against, rather than how fast you can go. Indeed, the youngsters will learn it's all about control.
All UK-wide venues are offering these 4x4 sessions on a one-to-one basis, which means there's no sharing the driving and no waiting around. Mini off-roaders will have the undivided attention of their assigned instructor for the duration of the experience. And we have to say, the tuition is second to none, with a great many of them being long-time BORDA (British Off Road Driving Association) instructors.
As for the actual cars the kids will be getting their hands on, again, it depends on the where the venue is in the UK, but it will be something like a Land Rover Defender. In every case, it'll be a proper 4x4 that's fully off road ready and capable of driving right through those deep water troughs whilst having mud splattered right up to the door handles. Get the kids booked in now for a junior offroad driving experience - they'll love it!
