Did you know you can swim with crocodiles in the UK? No need to venture into Sub-Saharan Africa for this experience, you can get in the water with the crocs in Filton, near Bristol!
Now then, when you were younger, your Mum probably told you to be careful near water. So goodness knows what she'd say if she knew you were going to be jumping into a little pool and splashing about with crocodiles...
Pete, the centre owner, assures us that Ali (as in Ali G, as in Ali Gator) and Gidget the Croc love nothing more than a doggy paddle around the water, followed by a nice cuddle afterwards. Sounds quite mad, but it really does happen and it is, by all accounts, totally amazing for anyone taking part.
Of course, safety is paramount. The gators in the pool with you are totally used to human contact, having spent many, many hours around people. All are assessed in terms of welfare and health. In fact, they love it so much they will most likely swim up to you, interacting with you in a totally interactive and relaxing way.
If you're really lucky, they might also do that thing where just the tip of their jaws and eyes are poking out of the water as they glide silently without even making a ripple on the water's surface…!
Most people think we're making it up when we say you can swim with crocodiles, but we're so not! Buy your voucher today and get ready to spend around 30-minutes in the swimming pool with the crocodiles. You can even add lunch (for you, not the crocs!) at the Croc Cafe.
