Book your place on the knife making course in Leominster and learn to forge your very own blacksmith's knife!
Tucked away in the Herefordshire countryside between Leominster and Worcester, this workshop has been specifically designed by professional blacksmiths Matt and Floyd for teaching. There's space for four budding smiths to work at the coke-fired forge and on the anvils, so numbers are nice and small for this course.
You will be forging spring steel into an all-metal knife, with a blade and a twisted metal handle for an artistic finish to your very useful piece of forged artistry.
There's no need for any previous experience, as everything will be explained and demonstrated to you step-by-step, using traditional blacksmithing techniques and tools, just as knives have been made for hundreds and hundreds of years.
Your hosts are convivial, knowledgeable and friendly too. Yes it's hard work hammering out your blade and handle, but it's all done in a good-humoured and welcoming atmosphere, with lots of encouragement as you go.
And when your knife making course at this Leominster forge ends, you will justifiably feel rather proud of yourself that you made that blacksmith's knife you're taking home with you!
