Everything you need to take part is included with these vouchers. Your bow will be selected according to your size and build and you'll be provided with the protections and the arrows for you to shoot.
Over the course of your experience, you will learn all the basics of archery. That's to say, how to hold the bow, how to load an arrow and how to pull back to release the arrow. And despite what you might think, there's no need to be super strong to be an archer, it's all about technique!
Using your recurve bow and arrows, you will adopt the stance and get ready to release. This is target archery at Sandy, so it's all about aiming at the golden centre ring to hit yourself a fine bullseye.
The first couple of arrows may well fall unceremoniously to the ground with a flop, but don't lose heart. A few more goes and you will soon be hitting those coloured rings and letting out a whoop of delight when you do!
This Bedford archery club near Sandy has been welcoming all levels of archers since 2010. The club is affiliated to ArcheryGB (the official governing body of the sport) and this ensures an excellent level of teaching. It's a lovely setting too, in the countryside just off the main A1.
