Deep in the countryside, yet just a 20-minute drive from the centre of York, this Rufforth range is the perfect place to practice throwing your axes. It's an outdoor range in a wooded area, with loads of space around you, so you'll be chucking those axes in total safety.
The Rufforth team has chosen to use Tomahawk axes for these throwing sessions. A Tomahawk is a long-handled tool used for chopping, bushcraft, combat - and, of course, throwing. They are fairly weighty, but you'll be taught various throwing methods, so there's no need to be built like a Viking to throw!
They way the range has been laid out means between four and eight of you can throw at once. This creates a really good ambiance and camaraderie amongst throwers, which makes the whole experience much more fun. Your axe throwing instructors will also keep you entertained, all whilst ensuring everything is done safely.

Axe throwing is available at Rufforth near York's city centre all year round, with morning and afternoon sessions offered. The minimum age is 12 years and groups of between two and eight throwers can be accommodated at once on the outdoor axe range.
