The morning will see you setting off from the studio base in North London with your tutor, for an exploration of the local area. The focus on this course is using your camera to capture creative images of the varied cityscape around Hoxton. Capture the historic architecture, urban landscapes and the culture that really comes to life through the lens.
As you wander around this vibrant part of London, your highly experienced photographer host will also be teaching you techniques and tips. Modern cameras are powerful and take great images, but there are also a lot of functions that you may not know how to use. During the course of the day, you'll learn a lot about it all.
Then there's the creative side. This is the ability to hone in on your subject matter and see it from a different angle. It's hard to put your finger on exactly what the ‘photographer's eye' is. It's that ability to spot a photo opportunity and capture a moment or a place in time in a unique way…
So as well as technical skills, you will be hearing about image composition and creatively documenting through images the places you see around the capital.
During the afternoon of this one-day photography course, you'll be out and about putting what you've learnt into practice. Everyone then reconvenes at the studio to have a look through and chat about the images you have captured with your tutor and fellow photographers.
