Now booking : wing walking in Northamptonshire! On selected dates during the main flying season, this is your amazing chance to do a wingwalk at lovely Sywell Aerodrome in the heart of the Northamptonshire countryside!
There’s something very fitting about wing walking experiences taking place at Sywell. The whole aerodrome is steeped in history, right back to the roaring 20s and the birth of civil aviation. Magnificent men and women in their flying machines have been getting airborne here since 1928.
And of course, it was back in the heyday of the 20s and 30s that the barn-storming daredevil spectacle of wing walking was born. Now here’s your chance to fly whilst standing on the top wing of a vintage Boeing Stearman biplane from the same aviation era.
A gung-ho attitude and a sense of adventure are definitely prerequisites to becoming a modern day wing walker. The ground crew will cover all the training, including how to get up onto the top wing, making sure you’re securely strapped in and how to communicate with the pilot.
Then it’s over to you. You’ll be star of your very own wing walk spectacular, zooming through the Northamptonshire skies at fast speeds and low altitude, wowing the crowds gathered on the veranda of the Art Deco Aviator hotel, bar and restaurant overlooking the runway at Sywell.
We often talk of ‘bucket list stuff’, but going wingwalking at Northamptonshire’s Art Deco Sywell Aerodrome is most definitely one of them! Dates are limited so don’t dally, book today!
