Fabulous gyrocopter lessons out of Caernarfon Airport at Dinas Dinlle in North Wales! We have vouchers for 60-minute flights, or a cool little deal for two that gives you a 30-minute flight each.
Your instructor and host for these gyrocopter flights is Pauli Murphy, a very affable chap who has a fair few flying hours under his belt (over 1700 as it happens!). After working as a helicopter instructor, Pauli loves his gyrocopter flying.
You will be flying with Pauli in his ultra-modern Magni M24 gyrocopter out of Caernarfon. This experienced pilot instructor ‘hugely enjoys the privilege of seeing someone else evolve their skill', so let's get you up and out there!
And what a place it is to fly from. Operating as RAF LLandwrog from 1941-1946, Caernarfon Airport is now a bustling general aviation airfield that is home to the Air-Sea Rescue Coastguard helicopters and the Welsh Air Ambulance helicopter, as well as the lovely Airworld Aviation Museum and a top-rated cafe looking right over the runway.
The views as you fly will take in the Lyn Peninsula, the gorgeous Menai Strait and Caernarfon Bay beaches, as well as the Eryi (Snowdonia) National Park. And yes, it will be you flying under the watchful eye of Pauli!
And we'll leave the almost last word about flying in a gyro to a Senior Professional Pilot with the rescue services who is quoted as saying : ‘The Gyroplane/Gyrocopter/Autogyro (call it/them what you like) is, arguably, the safest aircraft in the known Universe.”
Why? Because, firstly, unlike almost all other aircraft, you cannot stall or spin in a Gyroplane. Secondly, if the engine should by chance fail, you can just land normally and you only need ten yards/metres to land safely. So yes, gyrocopters are safe and pretty amazing too!
Isn't it time you flew a gyrocopter at Caernarfon Airport?
