Prepare for an exhilarating day of fun and learning at our Sheepdog Experience, nestled in the picturesque hills of Yorkshire. As you arrive at our working sheep farm, you’ll be greeted by our enthusiastic four-legged companions, eager to showcase their skills.
Together with a friendly shepherd, you’ll delve into the art of herding while pairing up with one of our intelligent Collies. Learn about the methods used in training and breeding these remarkable dogs, enhancing your appreciation for their incredible abilities. With guidance from experienced handlers, you’ll have the opportunity to actively participate in herding demonstrations, putting your newfound skills to the test.
Whether you’re herding sheep or simply enjoying the serene surroundings, this hands-on experience offers a unique glimpse into rural life while creating lasting memories. Get ready for a day filled with laughter, learning, and perhaps a new furry friend!
What's Included
- Learn from fully qualified trainers and behaviourists about the dogs
- Work with different dogs and find out how to handle and train them
- Learn about farming, sheep, sheepdogs and trialling
- Shepherd a small flock of sheep to test your handling skills

When Is It Available
- Available on selected days throughout the year
- Arrival at 10:45 for tea and coffee
- Course begins at 11:00
- Departure is between 14:00 - 15:00 depending on group size and weather
- Due to popularity, it is recommended you book well in advance to avoid disappointment

Suitable For
- Minimum age is 16
- Under 18's must have an adult in attendance with them for the day
Spectators
- Spectators are welcome by prior arrangement for £10 per person, payable on the day
- Guests will be with the participant all day with tea and coffee provided
Anything Else
- Lunch is not included in this activity and participants are advised to take their own picnic
- Alternatively excellent "pub grub" is available nearby
- Suitable outdoor clothing and sturdy footwear should be worn
- Waterproofs may be required on the day
