Welcome to the Castle Combe Skid Pan, where excitement and education come together on the slick surface of our wet skid pan! Over three exhilarating hours, you will delve into the world of vehicle control, pushing the limits of your driving skills while learning how to manage challenging skidding situations.
Our expert instructors will guide you through essential techniques that enable you to regain control when your car begins to slide. You'll rotate between different vehicles, experiencing the unique handling characteristics of both front and rear-wheel drive cars. Each turn and slide provides invaluable lessons, ensuring that you not only have fun but also walk away with newfound confidence behind the wheel.
Expect a supportive, energetic atmosphere where everyone, from novice drivers to seasoned pros, can refine their skills and enjoy the thrill of driving in a safe, controlled setting. Let’s make those slides a breeze at Castle Combe!
What's Included
- Learn how to react to adverse conditions in a safe enviroment
- Drive standard road cars BMW (rear wheel drive) and Rover (front wheel drive) cars on a low grip skid pan, cradles are not used
- The course lasts around three hours
- Experiences operates on a 6:1 driver ratio, with drivers taking turns behind the wheel
- Ride as a passenger in the vehicles when not driving
- You will form part of a group of up to 12 drivers one the day
Itinerary
- Welcome, introduction and safety briefing
- Initial driving session on the skid pan (in both cars)
- Classroom session with instructor
- Driving session on the skid pan (in both cars)
- Braking exercides (ABS and cadence)
- Fun time trial (small prize for fastest time)
- Debrief with presentation
- Skid control completion certificate

- Saturdays & Sundays with occasional Fridays throughout the year

Suitable For
- Minimum age 17
- All drivers must hold a full manual or automatic driving licence but please note the vehicles are manual so you must know how to drive a manual car
