Tiger Moth flights from Great Yarmouth! We are offering vouchers for 15, 20, 30, 40 and 60-minutes of vintage flying from North Denes Airfield right by the Norfolk coast.
This Yarmouth flight operator has a glorious trio of Tiger Moths. Their lovely late-1940 model most often used for these experiences is resplendent in her RAF training colour livery, which reflects her career at military training schools. You might also spot another 1940 Moth and even a rare 1935 example, all based at Yarmouth.
And indeed, this is a great place to fly from. Originally opened as North Denes Airfield in 1950, the strategic location of the airfield meant it was perfect as a base for off-shore helicopter operations serving platforms in the North Sea from 1965 onwards, when it became known as Yarmouth Heliport.
Now it's all about General Aviation. With its 600m-long, well-maintained, grass runway, it's ideal for tail-dragger vintage Tiger Moths to take off and land. And we have to say, the coastal views of Great Yarmouth and Caister on Sea as soon as you're airborne are really rather lovely. And, of course, it all looks fantastic from the Moth's open cockpit.
As for the pilots who will be taking you on these heritage Tiger Moth flights, each and every one of them has a lengthy CV when it comes to flying. RAF, commercial, freight, historic, aerobatic and jet planes all feature heavily. But ask any of them which aircraft holds a special place in their hearts and it's the Tiger Moth.
If you're feeling brave, the pilot might also indulge you with a few gentle aerobatic moves to show there's still life in the dear old Moth yet during your experience!
We are offering a full range of Tiger Moth flight times out of Great Yarmouth. If you want a bargain, we can recommend the 15-minute weekday special, redeemable from Monday to Thursday. Buy your vouchers online now!
