World exclusive Hurricane flights! This is your chance to fly in an actual two seater Hurricane. We are offering 30-minute flights in this iconic wartime fighter out of White Waltham Airfield near Maidenhead.
This genuine Hurricane was built by the Canadian Car & Foundry Company in 1942 as a Mk.I. Originally ordered for the RAF, the production batch was diverted to the Royal Canadian Air Force. In 1943, the upgraded Packard-built Merlin 29 engine was installed, bringing her up to Mk.XII standard.
The newly-upgraded Hurricane continued to serve with the RACF until 1944, when she was struck off charge. Like many post-war Hurricanes, she was sold off. And eventually, she was shipped to the UK.
The conversion into a two seater was completed in 2019. A rear seat and second set of controls has been cleverly integrated behind the pilot's seat, so there is visibly hardly any change to the Hurricane.
Painted in the colour scheme of RAF serial number BE505, this magnificent Hurricane is the only two seater version in the world and she is operating flights out of White Waltham for you.
And of course, classic aviation enthusiasts will know just how significant this is. The Hurricane was the backbone of the Battle of Britain campaign and was a formidable force when armed with bombs and Browning guns. They might not have those elliptical wings for speed, but the Hurricanes, with their bigger wings and upgraded 1300 bhp engines manoeuvred effortlessly in the air to outwit the Luftwaffe.
Your 30-minute Hurricane flight experience starts with firing up that incredible Merlin engine. Once airborne, you'll see the best of the countryside around the BE505's White Waltham base. It's a real honour to be able to offer these Hurricane flights - and it's extra special if you're given the green light to do a couple of aerobatic moves during your experience!
