The idea is simple. You will be locked in and you have one hour to work out how to get out. It'll involve spotting visual clues, solving puzzles and working out problems. It could be anything from opening locks, to finding something hidden within the eclectic mix of artefacts adorning the room.

What makes MoviESCAPE special is the attention to detail. The film-style sets are amazing, with excellent decoration, props and atmospheric lighting. The design and build really is another level at these escape rooms in Stockport.

Rooms are changed fairly regularly, so you can keep returning to this great venue. If you're coming with younger children (from the age of 8 years) Merlin's Magic Academy is perfect. As apprentice witches and wizards, you'll be casting spells, making potions and more. Kids love it.

The two other current rooms are more horror-movie based and gory. You might need to lay a curse to rest in a haunted house (calling all demonologists and paranormal investigators!). Perhaps you'll be dragged into a dark and dank whodunnit murder? Or maybe you're that close to being the killer's next victim? Eww. Let's hope not!

• An unsettling whodunnit horror themed escape room

Haunted House II: Demon's Curse:

• Enter the most haunted house in the country to lay to rest a terrible curse
• Experience spooky stories, exciting challenges and terrifying scares

When Is It Available

• Weekdays and weekends throughout the year, subject to availability
• Vouchers are not valid for use between 19th December to 1st January
• Escape room session are available between 10.15am to 9.15pm

Suitable For

• Merlin's Magic Academy:  Advisory minimum age 8
• SAWtopsy and Haunted House II: Demon's Curse:  Advisory minimum age 12
• Under 12s may attend at the parent or guardian's discretion, but they must be accompanied by a parent or guardian aged 18+
• Children aged 12-16 can go into the escape room on their own but must have an adult aged 18+ present at the venue at all times
• Not suitable for those of a nervous disposition
• Registered assistance dogs may attend for people with a disability (please make this known when making your booking)
• Suitable for those who are pregnant
• SAWtopsy and Haunted House II: Demon's Curse are 90% wheelchair accessible, there are smaller sub-rooms which a wheelchair may not fit but rooms can be viewed from the doorway
• Merlin's Magic Academy is not accessible for wheelchairs due to narrow doorways

Spectators

• Not suitable for spectators

Anything Else

• Children aged 5 and under can enter for free and will not count towards the number of people on your voucher unless this will exceed 7 people, please make this known when making your booking if they will be attending as part of your group
• Storage and lockers are available to use for your personal property
• Food cannot be consumed in the escape rooms but snacks and drinks can be purchased at the main reception
• A maximum of 8 people can play in the escape rooms
