Explore the subterranean world when you go caving in the Brecon Beacons! These half and full-day caving experiences are led by expert instructors, who'll guide and encourage you every step, jump and crawl of the way.
Caving is a true adventure sport. You don't need any fancy gadgets (a wetsuit, helmet and a head torch is the basic kit list), but you do need to know what you're doing when you head underground. That's why you should only ever go with experienced and qualified guides.
Your guides will usually take you to Porth-yr-Ogof. These caves are well known in South Wales and the warren of underground passageways is on the southern edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park in an idyllic location. What's special about the caves here is that access is super easy, with one of the main entrances being 15m wide and nearly 5m high!
Inside is a veritable labyrinth of chambers, coves and pools. This is Mother Nature at her finest. All naturally occurring features, the colours and textures you'll encounter are breathtaking. From the shiny grey of the stone, to the dark blue of the cold water pools, caving will have you enthralled.
You will be led along passages and creeks, tackling natural obstacles and features as you go. Prepare to get wet in the ‘washing machine', be amazed by the incredible underground caverns and alcoves, and don't be surprised if you end up on your hands and knees at some point!
Caving in the Brecon Beacons is a true underground adventure. You'll need to be a bit of a daredevil to do this activity. But needless to say, you'll be super well looked after by your guides who spur you on as you explore the Porth-yr-Ogof caves. Up for it? Buy your vouchers now and get ready to go below ground!
